BrewDog Las Vegas looks crazy, biggest location yet is set to open Dec. 2 with $1M bar tab prize (enjoy some renderings)

October 13, 2022Keith Gribbins

I guess the only option is to go big in Vegas, right? International brewing brand BrewDog has done just that. At least the renderings go big! I will be in Las Vegas in March, so I’ll report back. BrewDog, which has its American home in Columbus, Ohio, just announced its first Las Vegas location will open quite soon actually, and it’s also announced a weekend long celebration starting on Friday, Dec. 2, so start planning now.

The location is set on the third and fourth floors of the Showcase Mall on Las Vegas Blvd., and it will feature a 30,000-sq-ft rooftop bar that looks like it will have pretty extraordinary views of The Strip. In fact, the spot is right on top of a 4,000 sq-ft LED cube with a custom-fabricated 30-ft illuminated sign. That’s high-profile branding. The new venue is also the largest out of BrewDog’s 113 locations around the globe. Please cue this.

BrewDog is also billing this big, bright Vegas locale as the “first-ever carbon-negative bar to Las Vegas,” according to the press release. Learn about BrewDog’s big carbon-negative initiatives right over here (it’s impressive stuff).

$1M bar tab? WTF?

Visit the party on December 2, and you might get lucky enough to drink for the rest of your life and/or die trying. Throughout the evening, BrewDog will raffle prizes to attendees where one guest will be awarded a $1 million bar tab, which can be used in any BrewDog bar around the world over the next 20 years. Losers will be consoled with a brewpub menu that will feature items exclusive to the Vegas location and over 96 pours on tap, including fan favorites such as Elvis Juice and Punk IPA, alongside guest taps from local breweries.

Beer will also be made onsite. A 10-bbl brewhouse will allow for the creation of exclusive small-batch brews. What about the food? What about the entertainment? Opening in a city known internationally for its cuisine offerings and its 24-hours-a-day fun factors, BrewDog is pulling out all the stops with an exclusive Vegas-worthy menu and some gaming. Alongside BrewDog’s famed pizzas and tacos, guests can also enjoy lobster and Wagyu-beef burgers. Guests can eat, drink and also play on full-size shuffleboard tables, retro gaming and of course, multiple TVs to cheer on their favorite teams.

What about this BrewDog?

Since 2007, BrewDog has been on a mission to make other people as passionate about great craft beer as they are. In addition to becoming the first carbon-negative brewery in the world in 2020, BrewDog is also a Certified B-Corp as of 2021. This is all part of its mission to become the world’s most sustainable drinks brand, showing that business can be a force for good. BrewDog shook up the business world in 2010 with the launch of pioneering crowdfunding initiative Equity for Punks, an initiative that has seen the company raise more than $99M over seven rounds, with its latest round open until April 2020.

The funds and the community of Equity Punk shareholders (217,803) has enabled the Scottish craft brewery to scale up. With over 113 bars across the globe, export into 60 countries, and a brewery in Ohio that launched in 2017, BrewDog continues to take the craft beer revolution around the world. BrewDog recently published the BrewDog Blueprint, as part of which it was announced 50 percent of the profits generated by each bar will be shared directly with the staff who crew them. According to the press release, the BrewDog Las Vegas crew will benefit from this profit share scheme — both part-time and full-time crew.
