Marketing Craft Beer: In this online workshop designed for brewery owners, brewing marketers or those thinking about starting their own craft beer business, you’ll pick up best practices for building and tracking brand awareness. Learn the basic concepts of business marketing and how to apply those concepts to your brewery or beer-related business with an emphasis on social media. Topics include building a brand identity, finding your target audience, creating visual appeal and how to apply that to your social media channels.

Beer Quality: Flavor: In this course, you’ll learn at your own pace how to control and improve the flavor of beer. Through a series of engaging and informative online lectures, you will learn how beer flavor is detected, created and assessed. By the end of this course, you will have gained practical knowledge on how to achieve the desired flavor and aroma in your brews.

Beer Quality: Foam: Discover the science behind foam, how to measure and assess foam, and how to achieve the ideal foam. By the end of this online course, you will be able to apply your new knowledge to ensure excellent foam performance on your beers.

Master Brewers Certificate Program: This program is a unique, 15-week in-person course that provides an in-depth understanding of brewing science and brewery engineering and prepares students to enter the brewing industry with the potential to rise to the highest levels of leadership within it. Major topics covered in brewing science include malting, mashing, brewing, fermentation and finishing, while the brewery engineering subject matter focuses on fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, solid-liquid separation and more. Students explore these two fields through professional-level equivalents of UC Davis degree-program courses and expand their brewing knowledge through assigned reading and writing exercises and visits to breweries in Northern California.
