New Belgium’s 2015 Clips Beer and Film Tour raised more than $150,000 for nonprofits

December 7, 2015CBB Editorial Staff

New Belgium Film and Clips Tour
This watch party is one awesome marketing concept.

New Belgium Brewing Co. makes great beer, but they might market it even better. Here’s a good example: New Belgium has some of most clever traveling beer events around the United States (take note craft brewers). Roaming tours like Tour de Fat, a bicycle advocacy, charity and beer fest, moves around the country raising money for local nonprofits while marketing the charitable, eco-conscious, bike-loving beer products at New Belgium. It’s fun, and everyone seems to win.

New Belgium’s Clips Beer and Film Tour is just as cool. More than 20,000 people gathered at different stops around America to sample New Belgium beer, watch fan-made films and raise money for great organizations. In fact, the 2015 Clips Beer and Film Tour raised $152,592 for nonprofits across the country. New Belgium’s beer-toting, film-traveling, nonprofit-benefiting show traveled to 20 cities in 2015 and had 20,050 attendees (city-by-city breakdown is below).

“Once again it was another awesome year of support for each of our nonprofit friends with funds raised since inception reaching the half-a-million mark,” said Christie Catania, Clips National Special Events Manager. “Night after night being able to see a park full of people just having a great time, enjoying incredible films, drinking great beer and supporting their local nonprofits is so awesome to experience. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year.”

Since its inception in 2010, Clips has raised $659,000 for nonprofit organizations. This year, Kansas City raised the most money of any city for the second year in a row, bringing in $17,500. Each Clips Beer and Film Tour stop featured New Belgium’s esoteric Lips of Faith beers and brewery classics, along with short films created by New Belgium friends and fans. All of the proceeds from beer sales went to local nonprofits in each city. Attendees also enjoyed a diverse offering of traveling games, contests, food and fun.

New Belgium selects approximately 20 short films for the tour each year. All selected filmmakers for the 2015 tour received a trophy-worthy beer in a custom screen-printed bottle, made exclusively for the winning submissions. This year, chosen films included a panda with an attitude about craft beer, a mano-a-mano mountain bike brawl, a whimsical human-powered surf rig and much, much more. Below is a breakdown of the tour stops.
