Relax by listening to these quiet, whispery ASMR beer videos

April 3, 2023Keith Gribbins

We all need a little help loosening up these days — and craft beer is often there to help — but here’s another quick remedy (because those always work the best) — autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR) videos. An autonomous sensory meridian response is that pleasant tingling sensation one gets along the scalp, back of the neck and upper spine when they hear, feel, see or sense something. Wikipedia calls it a “low-grade euphoria,” which is now also my new band’s name. ASMR YouTube videos have been around for a while, and today millions of people subscribe to content from popular ASMR artists such as the gentle whispering of Maria Viktorovna.

In 2019, Anheuser-Busch even based a Super Bowl beer ad around its Michelob Ultra Pure Gold brand using ASMR. Actress and singer Zoe Kravitz whispers into a mic and quietly taps on a Mic Pure bottle surrounded by silent and gorgeous green Hawaiian scenery. That was cool. ASMR beer videos have since become a thing — an example being Shipyard Brewing Co.‘s ASMR video above — “Fizzy Fizzy Fizzy.” I actually listened to it while writing this post.

A simple search of ASMR beer videos brings up some interesting content. Enjoy!
