SweetWater Brewing becomes ‘exclusive craft beer partner’ for Atlanta Braves

April 9, 2014Keith Gribbins

New SweetWater Beer Island
It’s not a mirage. It’s just the new SweetWater Beer Island.

SweetWater Brewing Co. is making friends with some big Atlanta-area brands. Last week, the company announced a partnership with Delta, specifically serving its craft cans on flights from Atlanta to New York. Now, with baseball season in full swing, SweetWater Brewery has announced a partnership with the Atlanta Braves. In fact, SweetWater looks to be the “exclusive craft beer partner” for the 2014 Braves season.

Craft beer and baseball partnerships are booming nationwide as fans are requesting local flavors to pair with their local teams. With SweetWater’s beers brewed right up the street, this partnership looks to provide fans with an ultra-fresh lineup of craft beer on site.

It appears the recent addition of SweetWater’s can line has been a game changer for the brewery. SweetWater launched its new canned brews (420 Extra Pale Ale and IPA) this March and the 16-ounce cans will be featured expansively throughout Turner Field. The partnership also features a newly rebranded SweetWater beer island centrally located in Fan Plaza. A team of artists and engineers hired by the brewery began hand-designing a rebranding of the pavilion to emulate parts of the brewery and its culture featuring hand-painted brick work, tie dye artwork and a 30-foot fishing pole to reel fans in upon entry.

We suggest you snag tickets to Turner Field and find out for yourself.
