SweetWater Brewing Co. has named Kimberly Jones as the chief financial officer of Georgia’s largest craft brewery. Jones brings more than 15 years of executive financial and management experience to the SweetWater team.

In her role as chief financial officer at SweetWater, Jones will be responsible for overall financial policies, performance management and strategic fiscal development. Jones’ hire comes roughly a year-and-a-half after the completion of the brewery’s $19 million expansion that more than quadrupled annual capacity, production and packaging operations in order to help satisfy growing Southeastern demand.

With a background in accounting and finance, Jones brings a portfolio of diverse experience to the position. Having most recently served as vice president and corporate controller with SPANX Inc., Jones also held senior financial and management positions with distinguished Atlanta-based companies including EarthLink LLC, The Coca-Cola Co. and Ernst and Young LLP.

Jones graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds a master of accountancy and bachelor of business administration with a concentration in finance.

“Kim brings a wealth of experience, energy and a fresh perspective to the table, and her addition to SweetWater family will undoubtedly help launch us to the next level,” said Founder and Big Kahuna Freddy Bensch. “She’s a multitalented leader with an extensive financial background in the technology, beverage and shapewear industries — qualifications sure to help tighten up our bottom lines.”

Outside the office, Jones known for her collaborative work in establishing The Sara Blakely Foundation — dedicated to helping women through education in entrepreneurship. Additionally, Jones spends time volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, as well as hiking and camping with her family. Jones currently resides in the Morningside neighborhood in Atlanta with husband Adam and children Emma and Jake.
