Today’s diversion: Watch Summit Brewing’s Damian McConn read mean tweets, tackle shark violence/bug spray beer

November 16, 2021Keith Gribbins

Watching Summit Brewing Co.’s Damian McConn is beer-worthy entertainment. I highly recommend these two videos. This past summer Summit’s chief brewing officer was apparently tasked with a marketing gig reading mean tweets about the craft brewery’s various brands. McConn is affable and Irish, and he made me genuinely laugh when pondering critiques of Summit beer. Here’s an example:

Is this water in a can? – Drinking a Slugfest Juicy IPA by @summitbeer

“Well to be fair,” McConn calmly responds. “Beer is about 96 percent water, so you’re 100 percent accurate. Well, 96 percent accurate with that tweet.” These two videos will make a nice diversion to your Tuesday, the most nondescript of all weekdays. McConn tackles everything from beer that tastes like bug spray to shitty taproom reviews to promoting unintentional shark violence. This is good YouTubbing.
