BarSight launches inventory software for breweries focused on raw ingredients, packaging materials and more

November 9, 2022Pretty Much a Press Release

Here comes another cool software solution for beer makers. BarSight Restaurant Systems, a leading provider of bar and restaurant management systems, has recently announced the release of its new inventory management system for breweries. Created to meet the needs of breweries that may be overpaying for expensive software, but don’t want to be drowning in spreadsheets, the new module offers an easy-to-use interface, and a flexible platform, all in an affordable package.

The system is designed to help breweries manage their inventory levels of raw ingredients, packaging materials, and finished goods. Brewers can easily create recipes in the system, plan to brew those batches as far in advance as needed, and be able to see their predicted ingredient stock levels right there on the planning calendar. Inventory stock reports can easily be generated on screen or downloaded as an excel spreadsheet to get a birds-eye view of the brewery’s predicted raw ingredient levels day by day.

Brewery Inventory Software Advantages Over Traditional Methods

Brewing beer in a full-scale production facility requires seemingly more and more reporting and data entry. As your brewery expands with additional tanks, a wider variety of recipes, and more distribution, you will be needing to look for a software solution that can grow with you. Typical spreadsheets can grow too large to manage, and it’s frighteningly easy for complicated cell references between multiple workbooks to become corrupted or invalid.

Most brewery inventory management software allows you to enter, review, and update the data in a way that makes sense, and will validate your data as you enter it, virtually eliminating the chances of a typo corrupting an entire brewery’s spreadsheet. Keeping the data ‘in the cloud’ is also critical to reducing the frustration of having to deal with duplicate entries and passing the same file back and forth between computers or devices. You will be able to see your raw ingredient stock levels, individual batch status, and finished good counts at any time from any device.

Tracking Raw Ingredients Throughout the Brewing Process

All purchased ingredients and materials are added to the brewery’s inventory for accurate lot tracking, and invoices for the purchases automatically integrate with BarSight’s Accounts Payable module to create stress-free reporting to pass along to the bookkeeper.

Your brewery staff members who end up receiving the shipment will be able to enter the lot numbers of each ingredient of the purchase. When it comes time to use the indigent into a particular batch, by selecting the correct lot number(s) of each ingredient used, the BarSight Brewery Software will be able to generate accurate reports for you in the unfortunate case of a government audit or a product recall.

Enhance Your Sales Team with Better Visibility

Using software to manage your inventory throughout the process, means you will also have more accurate data for your sales team to use. When your brewed batches are packaged and ready for sale, the total volume of your beer is distributed into cans, bottles, and kegs and put into your inventory as ready for sale. Your sales team can view current stock levels, and create sales orders immediately with confidence, without guessing if you have enough stock in storage.

Looking up sales history by customers to see previous orders is a snap with any brewery software and is useful to predict future trends or when evaluating discount amounts and other factors.

Choosing the Right Brewery Management Software

Each brewery is different, with a variety of production outputs and reporting needs. Some brewery software companies require a hefty monthly fee to use their services, while others are too advanced and require many data points to enter to complete a batch. BarSight created its inventory system for breweries after hearing there was no middle-of-the-road solution. Allowing breweries to grow, and capture the data they need, while not costing an arm and a leg is what sets BarSight apart from the rest.

More Features Under the Hood

The new software provides brewery owners with complete visibility into their inventory needs, including the ability to generate a variety of reports on the fly, and is a welcome addition to BarSight’s already existing suite of tools to provide an all-in-one solution to breweries.

BarSight was initially built to provide a simple solution for employee scheduling and management. Employees can update their availability, request time off, and complete training/onboarding modules that have been designed by the brewery ownership group. The software also includes a digital logbook and an accounts payable module for easy expense reporting. The team at BarSight is always listening to their customers and making improvements where needed. After a few breweries had initially reached out, looking for a new solution, BarSight built this new inventory software in collaboration with them. The software is now out of its beta development phase, and ready for widespread use across the globe.

Available instantly, with a free 30-day trial, for only $175 per month. No setup fees, or hidden extras, just a straightforward solution to help brewers make great beer.
