Chain-Vey’s all food-grade design makes it a smart choice for malt conveyance

January 2, 2019Pretty Much a Press Release

MPE is a leading manufacturer of particle reduction equipment. What is that you ask? Well, MPE “granulizers” achieve a uniform particle grind distribution with minimal “fines” for various products ranging from dry foods to chemicals and even abrasive minerals. MPE also manufactures the Chain-Vey, a very cool tubular drag conveyor that is specifically designed for food, chemical and other bulk powder products, including beer making.

The MPE Chain-Vey can transport products up to 200 ft with minimal product degradation. Just recently, MP announced that its Chain-Vey product is now even manufactured with entirely FDA-approved food grade materials, making it the ideal enclosed drag conveyor for malt handling.

Chain-Vey’s stainless steel chain, stainless steel schedule 10 tubing, UHMW pucks and all other parts in contact with your malt and grains are now entirely food grade. While sharing many of the benefits of other conveyors such as flexible layouts and enclosed design, Chain-Vey can move product far distances with multiple inlets and discharges throughout your entire brewing and distilling operation. Additionally, the stainless steel chain is guaranteed for life and eliminates some of the shortcomings associated with other conveyors like product harborage or contamination which can ruin entire batches of brew.

When it comes to the cleaning capabilities of the Chain-Vey, MPE developed a wide range of proven cleaning technologies which are able to suit each customer’s unique needs.

“Merely manufacturing a washable conveyor or selling a third party solution doesn’t solve much for the customer,” noted Chain-Vey sales engineer Chris Smyth, who works with food industry customers. “We took a customer-centric approach in developing our dry, hybrid, and wet cleanout solutions.”

Whether using the same conveyor for multiple flavor profiles, changing over from gluten and non-gluten ingredients or eliminating cross contamination of allergens, Chain-Vey offers ideal conveying solutions for beer brewing. Each Chain-Vey is competitively priced, completely custom designed, and will make for the perfect malt conveyor in your facility.
