Cool Equipment: Detailing Twin Monkey’s Yampa Tabletop Canner

August 5, 2019Keith Gribbins

Aluminum cans have many pros that craft brewers are capitalizing on these days. Hermetically sealed and protective from sunlight, cans keep beer safer and tastier. Cans are lighter, which means less shipping cost. Cans can open up new markets like concerts and stadiums and allow for more outdoor travel usage. Plus, canning equipment is becoming sized and priced for craft brewing operations.

A great example is Twin Monkeys‘ Yampa Tabletop Canner. With a tiny footprint (54 in. long by 23 in. deep by 36 in. high, weighing about 200 lbs), the Yampa can produce 20-plus cans per minute, which is filling and seaming about 3 bbls an hour (not counting the couple of hours it takes for setup and cleanup).

Just the base level Yampa Tabletop System automatically pre-purges, fills, applies lids and seams cans. The operator does the rest, but there are also a ton of options for adding more automation to your operation: can feeding and rinsing; volumetric beverage flow meters; integrated liquid nitrogen dosing; date coding; final rinse with a blower dryer or compressed air dryer; a full guarding cage; and more.

Watch the video above to learn about that more, and then peruse these specs pulled from the Twin Monkeys website (also below). Then, learn about those Twin Monkeys right here, and then enjoy one of its articles on how to choose a canning system. Good stuff for sure.
