Sanitary solutions: COP parts washers and basket strainers from Sani-Matic

June 2, 2015Chris Crowell

Clean out of place partsFB-COP-CIP diagramEfficient sanitary processes are critical for your beer and your bottom line. To that end, Sani-Matic has a variety of unique products and solutions that will clean up both your beer and your processes. Sani-Matic got its start in the early 1940s within Wisconsin’s growing dairy industry after recognizing a need for more efficient and sanitary cleaning methods. In 1943, an immersion bath washer design was developed to meet this need and Sani-Matic was born – beginning a long lineage of equipment at the forefront of improving and automating sanitary cleaning processes for a diverse range of industries including meat and poultry, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, biotech and personal care.

Smaller breweries may be interested in the Sani-Matic clean-out-of-place (COP) Immersion Parts Washers. Each clean-out-of-place (COP) Immersion Parts Washer is designed and manufactured to provide a semi-automated, long-term solution that will improve cleaning while also reducing labor, utility and maintenance costs with a low capital investment. These can be portable or stationary, single or multi-compartment, and are available with a variety of options, controls and valve configurations including COP capability. This system is ideal for cleaning parts removed from your process equipment.

A COP system like the one above can relpace unreliable manual cleaning with sanitary jet manifolds that produce a high-velocity turbulence, which is perfect for agitating and cleaning soiled pipes, hoses and disassembled parts. This alsominimizes operator exposure to high temperatures and strong concentrations and reduces handling.

That’s just one system. Sani-Matic also has CIP systems for cleaning your lines, mashing, fermentation and lauter tanks; portable rinse-foam-sanitize systems for cleaning hard to clean areas; and a basket strainer that acts as a pressurized hopback between your kettle pump and heat exchanger that also doubles as a trub catch. Pretty cool. Be sure to check out Sani-Matic’s website for more information on all of the above.
