Oliver Jakob explains the Huppmann Craft-Star brewhouse (aimed at craft breweries)

November 13, 2013Keith Gribbins

We had a beer with Oliver Jakob at the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) back in March. We even took a photo. Jakob is a product manager at GEA Brewery Systems, one of the biggest and best turnkey brewing equipment manufacturers in the world (which now owns and manufacturers the famed Huppmann brand of brewhouses).

We quote Jakob from the CBC: “The U.S. market is one of our main markets. It has really developed in the last five years through the craft brewing scene. Although we are based out of Germany, it’s the main market currently for our craft brewing products — the Compact-Star and the Craft-Star.”

Jakob and GEA were proudly displaying both those Huppmann Compact-Star and Craft-Star brewhouses at the recent international German-based trade show Drinktec 2013. Jakob took the opportunity to create a video on the Craft-Star product, aimed at artisan craft breweries as a way to provide a cost-efficient alternative to standard brewing systems, without cutting back on quality related technological features. Let’s let Jakob explain the rest. Then read our interview with him right here.
