Sign up for a free trial of the Shockwave Extractor at #CBC2017 (bigger flavors, less hops)

March 21, 2017Chris Crowell

The Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America is the No. 1 event of the craft beer year (April 10-13), and we want you to be ready to see all of the cool new stuff on the trade show floor. We asked exhibitors to tell us what they will be showing off, and we turned those submissions into these handy CBC Previews. See you in D.C.

One of our most-read posts of the month was this one about Anchor Brewing adding a new hops extractor to improve its dry hopping. For those who read it and were intrigued, you’ll want to stop by the Hydro Dynamics booth (#6139) to see it up close (and learn about a possible free trial).

Anchor ShockWave

With the proliferation of craft breweries, the demand for hops and the prices have increased. When the Hydro Dynamics ShockWave Xtractor technology is applied to the different processes within the brewhouse, it allows brewers to produce bitter beers with up to 50 percent less bittering hops and aroma hops for dry hopping. How? The ShockWave Xtractor harnesses the normally destructive power of cavitation and controls it so its pressure fluctuations can be used for increased hop flavor extraction.

In addition, the ShockWave Xtractor can increase beer yields by reducing beer loss due to less beer soaked hop waste.
