Union Craft Brewing Co. announced the release of its two flagship craft beers in 12-oz cans, Duckpin Pale Ale and Balt Altbier. These beers have become staples on draft at many Baltimore area bars and restaurants, and will be available in 12-oz cans at local Baltimore city retailers this week and throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C., in the next few weeks.

Additionally, the brewing company has acquired three new 60-barrel tanks from Premier Stainless in San Diego, increasing brewing capacity by 75 percent.

“Since day one, we have been working hard to get our beer in cans and into the hands of our local beer drinkers,” said co-Founder Adam Benesch. “By adding these new tanks, we can now produce enough beer to accommodate the growing demand of our draft and retail accounts.”

Co-Founder Jon Zerivitz added: “The can is the perfect package for our beer. It removes the threat of light and oxygen from affecting the quality of the beer, and it can go places that glass cannot. We’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of the cans and are very excited to have them out in the Baltimore market.”

Founded in 2011, Union Craft Brewing is situated along the Jones Falls river and was the first production brewery to open in Baltimore City in 30 years.
