Watch: This sweet CDR BeerLab analysis system is built to analyze beer, wort and water

July 19, 2021Keith Gribbins

CDR designs and manufactures its Foodlab systems, which allow various laboratories in various sectors to analyze several analytical parameters on all types of food and beverage products with the same accuracy and precision of those traditional, time-consuming methods. Its CDR BeerLab system is a fast, simple and reliable analysis system for beer, wort and water, aimed at in-house brewing processes and quality control operations in breweries of any size. How does it work?

  • Select the parameter to measure from the menu: the system automatically selects the correct wavelength.
  • Use the supplied pipette to add the correct volume of sample to the pre-vialed reagent, specifically developed by CDR laboratories. A colorimetric reaction is generated.
  • Follow the displayed instructions.

Sounds easy enough. The result of the test is automatically calculated, displayed and printed in just a few minutes in its unit of measure. The CDR BeerLab Analysis System uses an analyzer based on photometric technology, available in two versions, with a dedicated kit of pipettes. What can be tested?

  • Bitterness (IBU)
  • Fermentable Sugars
  • Alcohol by Volume (ABV)
  • Acetic acid
  • Yeast Vitality
  • Vicinal Diketons (VDKs)
  • Total sulfur dioxide
  • Free Amino Nitrogen by OPA (FAN)
  • Color
  • Starch
  • pH
  • Lactic Acid (D + L)
  • Polyphenols in beer
  • Carbohydrates in Beer
  • Alkalinity of water
  • Bicarbonate in Water
  • Calcium in Water
  • Zinc in Water
  • Sulfate in Water
  • Magnesium in Water
  • Potassium in Water
  • Chloride in Water

Wowsers. In fact, the unit’s Multitasking function allows performing several analyses at the same time on the same sample or sixteen different assays for the same parameter on a batch of different samples. There is so much more with this awesome tech. Just watch the video above. In America, ATPGroup distributes CDR products. Find them right here.
