Buffalo Wing Lager? KegWorks, Flying Bison make it so

April 3, 2013Chris Crowell

Buffalo Wing Lager KegWorks
KegWorks and Flying Bison Brewing are teaming to provide the greatness of beer and the greatness of Buffalo wings into one drinkable lager. Double greatness? Only makes mathematical sense.

KegWorks, an online retailer of home and professional draft beer equipment, bartending tools, premium cocktail ingredients and novelty items, as well as commercial restaurant and bar supplies and equipment is branching into the brew game itself. Teaming with Flying Bison Brewing Co. of Buffalo, N.Y., these two local companies are going to create a uniquely Buffalo beer, inspired by the city’s signature food.

Launching just in time for KegWorks’ 15th anniversary celebration, Buffalo Wing Lager, a spicy American Pale, is the inaugural creative collaboration between Brewmaster Tim Herzog and the KegWorks team. A completely original cayenne pepper hop sauce gives the new brew it’s spicy edge.

“We are extremely pleased to have selected Flying Bison. While there’s a lot of competition in the marketplace, Tim Herzog’s expertise and strong Buffalo roots make his brewery the perfect fit for the Buffalo Wing Lager brand,” said Tom McManus, KegWorks chief executive officer. “Capturing the authenticity, essence and nature of Buffalo’s favorite bar food, Buffalo Wing Lager has the richness, quality and blue-collar appeal one would expect in fine craft beer – and it’s so good, you don’t even need blue cheese.”

Buffalo Wing Lager will be locally available on draft and in hot, medium and mild variety six-packs, beginning April 1.
