On the show floor: Interview with Hops-Meister’s Marty Kuchinski #CBC2015

April 17, 2015Keith Gribbins

Hop farms and suppliers are all over the show floor here at the Craft Brewers Conference, but the ultimate hops-meister Marty Kuchinski is one of our new favorites. Hops-Meister LLC is a family farm located near Clearlake, Calif., specializing in Certified Organic Hops for the craft brewing industry. Established in 2004, the farm grows several varieties, including Glacier, Mt. Hood, Willamette, Cascade, Chinook, Centennial, Columbus and Magnum. In addition, Hops-Meister has brought back to commercial production two of the original California Cluster varieties which they have named Ivanhoe and Gargoyle — neither of which have been available commercially for more than 50 years. Watch Marty talk about it above. He’s got a big personality.
