Surreal Brewing boasts the lowest calorie line of U.S. craft non-alcoholic beer (like a 17 cal Kölsch)

July 9, 2020Keith Gribbins

I definitely dig these can designs.

Campbell, Calif.’s Surreal Brewing Co. is pitching non-alcoholic beer for fitness and fun. That’s cool. I like both of those things, but what really caught my attention here were the beautiful designs of Surreal’s cans and the crazy calorie counts on its various brands. According to Surreal Brewing, it has the lowest calorie line of craft non-alcoholic beer made in the United States. They are also pushing these boozeless brewskis as great tasting recovery drinks. Wait, what?

From the press info sent out:

Unlike traditional high-calorie beer which can dehydrate and hinder post-workout muscle recovery, non-alcoholic beer contains an abundance of electrolytes, antioxidants and polyphenols with anti-inflammatory properties that are great for recovery. A study by the University of Munich has even proven that German Olympic athletes who drank non-alcoholic beer after a workout recovered quicker and had fewer respiratory infections. Even better, Surreal Brewing’s NA craft beers have 0 grams of sugar so you are not packing your body with extra sugar by drinking a sports drink. Time to enjoy beer with no strings attached!

Those crazy Germans. Surreal Brewing also promises “all-natural ingredients, non-GMO grains and a wholesome brewing process that allows the yeast to create marvelous esters and phenols, minerals, B vitamins, flavors and aromas.” They’ve gotten some good flavor results. Just recently, Surreal Brewing won a gold at the 2019 World Beer Awards International for Best Low-Alcohol Pale Beer. Dig their other awards right here. Ok, let’s look at these calorie counts.
