More than 50 craft brewers to participate in Tampa Bay Brewing’s BadA** Beerfest III

We’re not afraid to spell out “badass,” but let’s be clear that this fest is actually called the BadA** Beerfest III, which certainly sounds like a movie we’d watch and/or a festival we’d attend. Well, here’s our chance: The Tampa Bay Brewing Co. (TBBC) is serving up the best in Tampa Craft Beer, local food and music at this year’s BadA** Beerfest III. Here’s the buzz: The event is supposedly the ultimate beerpalooza and brings together more than 50 local craft breweries that push the boundaries of brewing exploration. Minds will be blown. Beer palates will be inspired. Sold yet?

Well, all profits from the event will be donated to Ocean Media Institute (OMI), so get your ass (bad or otherwise) in gear and attend this beer bash.

Although beer is the main attraction, food and music are also major components. The Kings of Denmark and the hugely popular Black Honkeys will rock the stage to entertain the more than 3,500 guests expected to attend. There will also be a brewers’ jam session for musicians who are a bit more spontaneous. The taps flow from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on April 23, at the Westchase TBBC located at 13937 Monroe’s Business Park.

The BadA** Beer Fest offers beer connoisseurs, enthusiasts and causal beer fans the ability to experience the vast variety of what Tampa Bay Area breweries have to offer all in one location for one badass price, complete with some badass music. Food options include food truck vendors London Fish & Chippy, Mr. Hummus, Michelle Faedo’s On The Go, Enjoi Sweets and more.

“BadA** Beerfest has become the go-to event for beer lovers, and we’re proud to serve as hosts for such an awesome event that brings the local community together to enjoy this badass brewing scene we have all helped create — that includes the brewers, retailers and consumers,” said David Doble, owner of Tampa Bay Brewing. “It’s so exciting to see the passion for beer in the Tampa Bay Area and we’re thrilled to see even more enthusiasts inspired to turn their passion into a profession — and even more excited that we all have a chance to come together to celebrate this epicenter of the modern craft beer movement right here in our own backyard.”

TBBC is one of the largest breweries in the state and recently claimed the 2016 Best Florida Brewpub and Best Beer in Florida runner-up awards at the annual Best Florida Beer Championships. In total, Florida craft breweries took home 93 medals and 10 trophies — with five different Bay Area breweries receiving gold medal wins.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $50 at the door. Purchase tickets here. To learn more about the festival and share with friends, add the event on Facebook here.

As mentioned, all profits from the event will be donated to Ocean Media Institute (OMI). OMI serves to enrich and expand the public’s understanding of ocean science and conservation through the collaborative creation, exhibition and open-distribution of innovative visual media as well as artistic approaches to ocean education. You can be assured that any financial contribution you make will go directly to expanding a shared vision for ocean conservation.

“The oceans, and particularly the gulf, have always held a special place in my soul. From the days when we used to hunt Stone Crabs around the Skyway Bridge or swim out from Vero Beach for a ledge dive, the salinity of the oceans has always brought me a sense of peace,” Doble said. “My oldest brother, John Doble III [a TBBC founder] even has his remains cast into a reef off the coast of Anna Marie Island, where we took one of our last dives together. It is only fitting that this year’s BadA** Beerfest supports a worthy cause such as OMI.”
