AleSmith taps MicroStar’s keg solution to support expansion

June 6, 2014Jason Morgan

As they prepare for rapid growth, AleSmith has elected to use MicroStar‘s long-distance reverse logistics expertise to fuel their expansion plans. AleSmith chose MicroStar for increased flexibility required to open new territories and support their sustainability mission.

MicroStar logo“MicroStar has been responsive to our needs from day one,” said George Allen, AleSmith’s general manager. “In fact, we received our first shipment of MicroStar’s half and sixth barrel kegs within days of signing our contract. This is exactly the kind of flexibility we will need as we prepare to build and grow into our new 105,000 square foot brewery.”

“We are honored to have another world-class brewer like AleSmith join our customer community,” said Michael Hranicka, MicroStar’s president and chief executive officer . “Our cost-effective keg solution is ideally suited to support AleSmith’s future growth.”

AleSmith and MicroStar also share a commitment to sustainability. By choosing MicroStar rather than owning all of their own kegs, AleSmith is taking “empty keg miles” off the road, reducing their carbon footprint.

AleSmith Brewing Co. was founded in August 1995 in San Diego. AleSmith Owner, Peter Zien, purchased the brewery in 2002 and has spent the last 12 years growing an internationally recognized brand dedicated to hand-forged ales and craftsmanship.
