Attend New England Brew Summit and get quality assurance insight

March 21, 2016Chris Crowell

Maine Brewers Guild
The Maine Brewers’ Guild is hosting its first New England Brew Summit, and it’s going to be awesome. Tell your friends.

Any brewers located near New England (or bored brewers living far away looking for a road trip) should consider attending the first ever New England Brew Summit. The Maine Brewers’ Guild (MBG) just announced that Dick Cantwell, the co-founder of Elysian Brewing Co. and recent appointee as the Brewers Association Quality Ambassador, will deliver the keynote.

“Dick is one of the most well-respected brewers in the country, and his appointment as the Brewers Association Quality Ambassador is proof of craft’s status as a maturing industry,” said Maine Brewers’ Guild Executive Director Sean Sullivan. “We’re honored that he can join us for the Summit. Dick’s expertise and experience will provide valuable insights as New England brewers continue to grow and set the standard for quality craft brewing.”

Hosted by MBG and featuring technical and business workshop tracks and tours of the University of Southern Maine‘s (USM) Quality Assurance/Quality Control Laboratory (QA/QC Laboratory), the Summit will be held April 1 at USM’s Abromson Center.

Cantwell will be joined at the full-day conference by top breweries and vendors from the region, such as Harpoon, Allagash and Rising Tide breweries; Blue Ox Malthouse; the Hop Yard; and top professional services firms specializing in the brewing industry. Covering both the technical aspects of brewing and business operations, industry stakeholders will weigh in on a variety of topics, broken into 17 panels spread throughout the day.

In addition to a full schedule of topics, the conference will feature tours of the QA/QC Laboratory, as well as beer tastings, an exhibitor hall, “Ask an Expert” sessions and professional networking sessions.

It is never too early to register. Head here to do so.
