Badger State Brewing begins 20,000-sq ft expansion

Cool concept art: The brewery’s expansion is already underway in a space adjacent to its current brewing operations, located at 990 Tony Canadeo Run.

Founded in 2013 by three Green Bay, Wis., natives, Badger State Brewing Co. is the debut brewery in the Lambeau Field “Stadium District,” but its goal is bigger. It aims to become not just a part of the craft beer culture and community of Green Bay, but to conquer Wisconsin and to (maybe) eventually distribute beyond the Badger State.

“There has never been a more exciting time for craft beer in Green Bay and the state of Wisconsin,” said Andrew Fabry, president of Badger State Brewing. “Operating and growing our business in the city we grew up in has been a tremendously rewarding experience. The community support has been incredible since day one, and we could not be more thankful.”

The company’s expansion is already underway and is taking place in space adjacent to its current brewing operations, located at 990 Tony Canadeo Run, which will allow production and sales to continue throughout the construction process. The first phase of the project will include a taproom, event space and new brewing equipment that will facilitate an initial capacity of 2,500 barrels (bbls) of beer to be produced annually — and that means statewide distribution.

Subsequent phases of the project will include new packaging equipment and an outdoor beer garden with a view of Lambeau Field. The brewery offices will remain located at 990 Tony Canadeo Run. According to the company’s website:

We personally want to thank everyone who has supported us along the way. Our dream has become a reality thanks to our phenomenal friends, family and fans. Whether its been purchasing our beers at bars or giving us a shout out on Twitter, we would not be where we are without the incredible community around us. We’re excited to continue to grow with Green Bay, the state of Wisconsin and the craft beer industry for years to come. Even with the construction going on at our brewery, please continue to stop in. We’d love to share the details about our expansion.
