Imagine 13,300,000 barrels. This isn’t even 20. Try harder!

Late last week, the Beer Institute published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid by beer brewers. The February 2014 domestic tax paid estimate was 13,300,000 barrels (bbls). February 2013 removals were 12,900,000 (revised) for an increase of 3.1 percent. Please note the following monthly revisions from previous releases for 2013 and 2014:

Month                  2013                   2014            Percent Change             Volume Change
January           13,700,000         13,800,000            0.7 percent                      100,000 bbls
February         12,900,000         13,300,000            3.1 percent                      400,000 bbls
YTD                  26,600,000         27,100,000            1.9 percent                      500,000 bbls

That is all for now.
