BeerBoard’s Reopening Report shows steady climb in taps open and rate of sale averages

June 22, 2020Pretty Much a Press Release

BeerBoard manages over $1 billion in retail draft beer sales and 45,000 products through its digital platform, which captures, analyzes and reports real-time data related to bar performance, brand insights and inventory. The company released a new report, COVID Reopening for the On Premise (June 5-7), in its on-going series tracking the reopening of America’s bars and restaurants. This report covers the weekend of June 5-7 and compares it to the review of Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25).

Currently, every state has opened on-premise dining or announced plans to do so. New Jersey is the last state to do so (starting June 15), albeit entirely outdoor dining. The Open Rate (locations open and pouring beer) has grown from 16% on the weekend of May 8-10 to 45% over Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-25) to 66% the weekend of June 5-7.

And as you might expect, on premise sales and draft volume has continued to increase right along with those openings, including the average number of taps pouring at each location. The 30-Day average rate of sale was an especially promising sign:

Note that BeerBoard’s retail client list includes places like Buffalo Wild Wings, Hooters, WingHouse, Twin Peaks and Mellow Mushroom and its major brewery partners include Lagunitas, Heineken, Diageo, Yuengling, New Belgium, Shiner, Stone and Pabst.
