Boulder boast four new breweries in early 2013

January 9, 2013Jason Morgan

Colorado, one of the premier craft beer markets, will soon have four more contenders vying for the attention of sophisticated beer drinkers. J Wells Brewery is the first brewery to open in Boulder, Colo., this year and has been a labor of love for Jamie Wells, who has been working for four years to craft his 1.5 barrel (bbl) homebrew kit into a commercial brewing machine, the Westwood Denver blog reported.

Beautiful Boulder, Colo., will see a dozen new brewery openings this year.

The other three Boulder-area breweries set to launch are Fate Brewing, Sanitas Brewing and Upslope Brewing, which is finishing construction on a second brewery and canning facility. The Boulder brewing scene is booming with a dozen new breweries entering their final stages for a 2013 opening.

For those worrying about a craft brewery bubble, Wells told the Westwood blog that he thinks there’s still room for growth. For the full story, head over to the Westwood Denver blog.

And be sure to check out the breakdown of upcoming Boulder breweries.
