Braxton Brewing adds more fermenters, new brewer

May 13, 2015Chris Crowell

Braxton Brewing Co. announced the addition of two 80-barrel fermenters, more than doubling production capacity. The Covington-Ky.-based company will also be adding veteran brewer Adam Rauckhorst as the company’s fourth brewer. Rauckhorst has spent the past two years brewing at Moerlein Lager House.

“The Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati beer-drinking community has far exceeded our expectations! We have so many people to thank — from the bars and restaurants putting us on tap, to the customers purchasing our unique beers and visiting us at our taproom. We can’t wait to expand our offerings, as well as the number of locations where they can be enjoyed,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton’s Co-founder and CEO. “With the addition of new tanks, the brewing team will also be expanding. We are fortunate and pleased to announce that Adam Rauckhorst is joining our team. There is no one as skilled and or as passionate about our story as Adam.”

Rauckhorst is a lifelong Northern Kentuckian. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Technology from the University of Cincinnati and spent nine years at Procter & Gamble as a senior researcher before deciding to pursue his dream of brewing professionally in early 2013. It was there that he met his mentor and friend Richard Dubé. Rauckhorst has continued to build his brewing skills over the past 2+ years, becoming proficient in all areas of brewpub production and utilizing his unique knowledge of analytical chemistry in order to improve consistency of product.

The company is excited to once again partner with Quality Tank Solutions, located in Wisconsin, for this expansion. This decision not only keeps the manufacturing and production made in America, but also allows us to remain consistent in our support of the Midwest.

“By adding the additional tanks, the brewing team will be able to work more closely on providing new releases while ensuring we stay up to speed with our current brands,” said Evan Rouse, Co-founder and Head Brewer. “We can’t wait for you to see the styles we bring to life in the remainder of the year, and meet our newest team member!”

Stangnaro Distributing will continue to partner with Braxton Brewing Company to deliver the additional product to market. The focus will continue to be centered around Northern Kentucky draft accounts.
