Called up: Chicago White Sox turn to Revolution Brewing as official hometown beer reliever

May 9, 2017Keith Gribbins

The Chicago White Sox are looking very capable in the America League Central right now, neck and neck with last year’s AL champion Cleveland Indians. In fact, the Sox seem to be making the right moves in and out of the dugout right now. Last week, the South Siders announced that Revolution Brewing Co., Illinois’ largest independent craft brewery, would be beginning a partnership with the Sox this 2017 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, Revolution will be featured as the “Beer of the Homestand” during the Detroit and Boston series on May 26 through May 31 at Guaranteed Rate Field (the Sox homefield in Chicago’s South Side). On top of that, Revolution will get prominent in-park exposure through a branded interactive kiosk on the 100-level concourse, presence on the digital LED ribbon boards throughout the ballpark and logo display in the Craft Kave located near the right field bullpen. From the press release:

“Revolution Brewing is an established, hugely popular craft brewery in Chicago and throughout the country. We are excited to welcome them to the White Sox family of craft beer partners and expand their presence in the ballpark,” said Brooks Boyer, White Sox senior vice president of sales and marketing. “We have received great feedback from guests about the refreshing changes to the fan experience at the ballpark that represent Chicago’s own tastes and experiences, and that includes Revolution Brewing.”

“Nothing goes better with some great baseball in Chicago than a cold Revolution beer, brewed right here in the City of Chicago,” said Josh Deth, Chairman of the Party for Revolution Brewing. “The White Sox organization is leading the way by partnering with smaller brewers to give fans a real choice at the ballpark, and Revolution Brewing is proud to be a part of that change.”
