CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective, including Oskar Blues Brewery, Cigar City Brewing, Perrin Brewing Co., Squatters Craft Beer and Wasatch Brewery, is hosting a four-day “Music City CANarchy” festival during the Craft Brewers Conference (CBC) for industry attendees and Nashville locals in Walk of Fame Park. The event, April 30-May 3, will be located across the street from the convention center and FREE and open to the public.

Music City CANarchy will feature more than 20 varieties of canned craft beer daily, with specialty beer tappings each afternoon at 4 p.m. Features include rotating lineups of 32 local food trucks, live music and field games; and an expansive craft beer CANarchy Lounge with complimentary WiFi. Festival headliner Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, son of Willie Nelson, will anchor Wednesday night’s fifth-annual Oskar Blues Encore at 8 p.m.

The CANarchy Lounge is hosted by All About Beer, ChemStation, All-American and CanSource. At 3 p.m. each day, Draft Magazine will hold “Draft Magazine Presents — Beat the Brewer,” allowing contestants to face off against brewers in various beer and non-beer related conquests. All-American CROWLER Sealers will be showcased throughout the week, and CanSource CROWLER cans full of salty snacks will be sold to attendees to raise money for the CAN’d Aid Foundation, while ChemStation hosts a mountain bike raffle giveaway.

The CAN’d Aid Foundation is a CANarchy Craft Brewery Collective non-profit partner that spreads people powered do-goodery through TOWNS, TUNES, TREADS + TRAILS and LOVE YUR MAMA efforts nationwide. CAN’d Aid will host daily “Crush it Sessions” featuring live music from TUNES ambassadors and local Nashville talent on the main stage beginning each day at Noon.

Event schedule

Monday is hosted by CANarchy member Perrin Brewing. At 4 p.m., Perrin will conduct a specialty tapping, allowing visitors to try some of their rarest beer. Then, following the tapping, Perrin will host a cornhole tournament and present a screening of The Big Lebowski on the main stage big screen in tribute to the film that inspired Perrin’s highly sought-after brew, No Rules Vietnamese Imperial porter.

Tuesday, Cigar City Brewing will offer 4 p.m. tappings of their famous specialty beer lineup, including Margarita Gose, Chocolate Coconut Maduro, Whateley Family Farmhouse Ale and I Have Enough Friends DIPA. Festival goers will have the opportunity to challenge Cigar City employees, including El Lector Neil Callaghan, to a public LIVE BAND karaoke contest and dance party.

Wednesday night, Music City CANarchy will feature the fifth annual Oskar Blues Encore as CBC’s official Wednesday night shindig. Each year the Encore celebrates and showcases some of Oskar Blues’ favorite musical acts and closest partners in the craft beer industry. At 4 p.m., Oskar Blues will tap their limited releases Check Yo’Self Golden Double IPA and Interstate SMaSH Express Simcoe IPA. Live music kicks off at 5 p.m. with Eagle Eye Williamson from Austin, Texas, Interstate Stash Express from Lyons, Colo., and headliner Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, featuring the 28 year-old son of Willie Nelson.

The Oskar Blues Encore has traditionally been an exclusive, private event in a premier music venue; however, this year the Encore will take place within Music City CANarchy as a FREE event open to the public. The CANarchy Lounge will be transformed into a giant VIP venue with access to backstage, food and a complimentary beer via limited VIP tickets secured from sponsor booths.

Thursday’s festivities are hosted by Squatters Craft Beer and Wasatch Brewery featuring Tennessee’s first taste of Wasatch Bourbon Barrel Aged Polygamy Porter and also a Yappy Hour event revolving around Squatters Chasing Tail Golden Ale’s partnership with Best Friends Animal Society. Later on, Mike Grimes from Nashville’s legendary Grimey’s Records will showcase some of Nashville’s best local talent.
