Cincinnati Distilling is becoming an Ohio craft spirits staple. It opened in 2017, alongside March First Brewing to create a brewery, cidery, and distillery blend. Cincinnati Distilling continues to buggy its own path, with plans to open a second standalone bottle shop in Columbus, Ohio at Polaris Fashion Place.
“This is a breakout strategy for Cincinnati Distilling,” said Josh Engel, Cincinnati Distilling Marketing Manager. “Our new bottle shops allow us to connect directly with people who are passionate about craft spirits, curious about what we do or just need a fun and affordable gift for a friend or loved one. By opening standalone locations in big markets like Columbus, we not only expand our reach but also create a space where customers can actually sample our full catalog including products not always available in state liquor agencies.”
This new location, located on the main level next to Oakley, is scheduled to open late spring. The new Columbus bottle shop represents the second in a series of planned standalone “outpost” locations for 2025, underscoring Cincinnati Distilling’s commitment to making its full portfolio of spirits more accessible throughout Ohio.
Expansion plans for Cincinnati Distilling

The decision to open standalone bottle shops builds on the strategy to meet the consumers where they shop and dine. This is a complementary and parallel effort to the outpost stores that Cincinnati Distilling already operates inside of its sister breweries throughout Southwest Ohio.
“Parent company, March First Brands has a tradition of aggressive growth and portfolio expansion and our loyal customers have come to expect this from us.” stated Engel. In addition to the Columbus opening and other standalone sites yet to be announced, Cincinnati Distilling is actively exploring opportunities to acquire other craft spirits brands looking to take advantage of the growing Cincinnati Distilling sales channels.
Cincinnati Distilling specializes in traditional bourbons, whiskeys, vodkas, and rums, appealing to both aficionados and newcomers. Its creativity shines with unique offerings like bourbon aged in Imperial Stout barrels, 100 proof Peppermint Schnapps made with local Doscher’s Candies, and one of Ohio’s few absinthes.
