Cold Spring Brewing announces Nicole Holthaus as human resources manager (hey, it’s a slow week)

I got nothing. Wait! Found something way down in my Gmail’s Promotions tab. Man, I never look in there anymore. Well, it says here that Cold Spring Brewing Co. is doing stuff. The Minnesota-based brewing brand (once known for making fairly mediocre beer) has had a nice rebirth under its Third Street Brewhouse brand, which now acts as the public face of the brewery, and with its Monarch Custom Beverages, which is a custom beverage product manufacturer, doing custom beverages like beer, juice, soda, whatever.

To handle all that (some 300 plus employees and growing), Cold Spring announced the hiring of Nicole Holthaus as the human resources manager. Holthaus, who is a native to the local community, brings more than 17 years of management and human resource experience in the St. Cloud area. Prior to joining Cold Spring, Holthaus held positions with the St. Cloud Hospital and Wolters Kluwer Financial Services. To the press release!

“I’m in charge of 325 of my closets friends,” said Holthaus, when speaking about her role as Human Resources Manager. “It’s a big task, but I enjoy feeling like I’m taking care of everybody.”

In her role as Human Resources Manager, Holthaus will also be in charge of hiring nearly 60 new employees for the company’s planned expansion to add 300,000 square feet to its shipping facility.

“The company has grown significantly over the past few years and we saw this as a great opportunity to expand in order to keep up with demand,” Holthaus said. “It’s exciting to see how everything is coming together. I can’t wait!”

The expansion is expected to be completed by late 2017 or early 2018.
