Denver Beer Co. is auctioning a ‘Beer For Life’ NFT. For real.

Denver Beer NFT

Denver Beer Co. announced the release of an NFT entitled “Beer For Life.” This one-of-a-kind NFT is available for purchase by auction on the site opensea.io. The winner of the auction is entitled to FOUR FREE BEERS each day at any Denver Beer Co taproom indefinitely. The auction opened on June 23, 2021, and will close July 7, 2021, when the NFT will be granted to the highest bidder.

NFT, or “non-fungible token,” is a unit of data stored using blockchain technology that certifies a digital asset to be unique and therefore not interchangeable. The Denver Beer Co NFT is a one-of-one spinning digital gold coin with the company logo on one side and the words “Beer For Life” on the other side. The owner of the Denver Beer Co. “Beer for Life” NFT will be able to present their digital coin at any Denver Beer Co taproom location in order to receive up to four free beers each day to enjoy and share with friends.

Look, I still don’t really understand this NFT stuff. And “free,” I’d argue, isn’t exactly accurate since, you need to exchange a large sum of money to obtain the thing in the first place. But once that business is over, wow, that’s a fun little deal for the owner of the coin. And definitely a cool concept by the Denver Beer folks.

“We are in love with the concept of NFTs,” stated Denver Beer Co co-founder Charlie Berger. “We think they are going to revolutionize digital media and have so many other applications that are just beginning to be realized. A few other breweries have launched NFTs, but Denver Beer Co is the first in the craft brewing industry to offer an NFT with a lifetime supply of beer.”

The Denver Beer Co. “Beer for Life” NFT will not expire, though the owner of the coin may opt to resell the coin at any time. Beers must be consumed at the Denver Beer Co location and are redeemable only during Denver Beer Co normal operating hours and days. The coin holder must be present to redeem the beers and must be 21+ to purchase and redeem the coin, though the coin holder may share redeemed beers with friends and guests.

The auction will be open from 9:00 a.m MST on June 23 until 5:00 p.m. MST on July 7, 2021 on opensea.io. At the close of the auction, the highest bidder will be awarded the Denver Beer Co “Beer For Life” NFT. The purchaser of the coin will be able to redeem free beers immediately at any Denver Beer Co taproom during open hours.
