Play it again, Sam: Dogfish Head is the official beer of Record Store Day

March 9, 2015Jason Morgan

If there’s one thing that the Craft Brewing Business boys enjoy as much as beer, it’s music. Third place is socks. We love warm feet. Don’t ask. At any given CBB after-hours meeting, it doesn’t take long before someone spins the vinyl, taking turns making picks and deciding if the song needed more “Steely” or more “Dan.” It’s a love shared by many, including Dogfish Head’s Sam Calagione who sat down, beer in hand, to talk music and announce that Dogfish Head is the official beer of Record Store Day.

This Dogfish Head blog reports that on March 10, Dogfish will unveil a limited-edition compilation. “Music to Drink Beer To,” available on both vinyl and CD, was put together by longtime friends Sam Calagione and Adam Block of Sony Music’s Legacy Recordings and will feature a legendary lineup of off-centered musicians. Sam, who’s in the beer business and a raging music geek, and Adam, who’s in the music business and a raging beer geek, sat down over a few beers and a stash of well-worn vinyl and picked some of their favorite tracks. The play list will also debut March 10, and the compilation will be released on Record Store Day at retailers across the country.

Enter a lottery for the privilege to buy Dogfish Head’s $395 UBER growler (its Steampunk Treehouse design is admittedly badass)
