The small town of Frederick, Colo., got a new brewery last year and that brewery is already announcing some pretty cool new facilities. Echo Brewing Co. was started by Dennis and Daniel Richards, and its 7-barrel (bbl) brewhouse makes an interesting assortment of IPAs, wheats, stouts, porters, reds and browns. Soon, the new brewery will add cask ales and barrel-aged brews to its portfolio. On Facebook yesterday, Echo Brewing announced the big news:
We have some very exciting news! With Colorado Craft Beer week in full swing, we’re happy to announce that we’re opening a 2nd location! We will open Echo Brewing Cask and Barrel this summer in Historic Old Town Erie, Colorado. Our focus at this location will be brewing cask ale, barrel aged beers along with some of your current favorites. While we can’t disclose our location today, we have it under contract and hope to share with everyone soon. Cheers and thanks to all of our customers for an amazing year!
According to local news sources at timescall.com:
Echo’s announcement comes a few months after the owners of Atom Brewing Co. said they would bring to downtown Erie the town’s first craft brewhouse. Atom is going into the old fire station, 600 Briggs St., and is expected to open this spring. Eastern Boulder County is experiencing a sudden explosion in breweries and taprooms, with a second brewery headed to Louisville this year and three destined for Lafayette.
