January 18, 2018Pretty Much a Press Release

Love, drenched in beer, is worth the hangover.

Like in years past, Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewery is offering free weddings and vow renewals on Wednesday, Feb. 14 (that’s Valentine’s Day, Romeo). As a part of the love and romance of said Valentine’s Day, anyone over 21, with a marriage license, can be wed for free at Lakefront Brewery, and this year the offerings are even better.

Weddings include two free pints of beer, to have in-hand during the ceremony, a six-pack, two Lakefront Brewery T-shirts and two Lakefront cookies to take home. Couples can also request two engraved pint glasses, a short, professional photographer session and for the first 10 couples that sign up, free wedding bouquets.

Lakefront will provide six officiants, that are also brewery tour guides, who have been ordained and are prepared to marry as many couples as scheduling allows on Valentine’s Day. Couples can book weddings every 15 minutes from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. There are two small areas that have been decorated for the occasion, one being Bernie Brewer’s original chalet from Milwaukee’s County Stadium.

Lakefront Brewery will also conduct two mass vow renewals in the Beer Hall. Owner and President Russ Klisch will be presiding over the mass vow renewals set for 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Couples renewing their vows can do so with a beer in hand.

Mike Walker, tour manager at Lakefront Brewery, said: “This year will be bigger and better than ever. Beer, swag, photography and love! I’m giddy. And remember: couples need to provide a proper marriage license, which is a one-week turn around at the courthouse, and both need to be 21 years of age or older.”

Walker, along with Tour Co-Manager Dylan Marzurkiewicz focused on the experience. “So many couples met, or had their first date on, our award-winning tour, went on a second date to our award-winning fish fry and got engaged at our award-winning bottling line. Over the last 15 years, many of those folks got married here.”

The brewery opens at 11 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. on Feb. 14.

“Couples must book ahead by calling 414-292-0801,” said Marzurkiewicz, “We already have time slots filling. A couple from California is flying in for the Lakefront experience. I absolutely can’t stop smiling.”
