Kevin Moreland has been the head brewer at Cincinnati-based Listermann/Triple Digit for two years, and the company just announced his decision to leave to open up another brewery in town. Under Moreland, Listermann launched the Triple Digit Brewing brand and has grown from 50 barrels (bbls) a year to a projected 1,300 bbls this year.

“Kevin has been a huge asset to us from the very beginning,” said owner Dan Listermann. “I feel we have a great team in place to maintain the standard he has set here and continue to grow.”

Assistant brewer Patrick Gilroy has been promoted to the head brewer position. Gilroy started at Listermann/Triple Digit a year ago and quickly developed under Moreland’s guidance. Before coming to Listermann, Gilroy was the coffee roaster at Coffee Emporium and an avid home brewer.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity,”Gilroy said. “I look forward to maintaining the high quality of beer Kevin has established, and adding my own twist to some others and new ones.”

Moreland is staying on to help Gilroy and the brewery for the next 60 days and there will be a going away party for Moreland at the end of January.
