If you find taxes boring, enjoy these delightfully stacked barrels.

Nothing says Wednesday fun like taxes. Luckily, the Beer Institute knows both fun and taxes. Perhaps we’re generalizing here, but the trade association does represent the whole of the $253 billion American beer industry. The Beer Institute recently published an unofficial estimate of domestic tax paid shipments by beer brewers for September 2017: The September 2017 domestic tax paid estimate is 14,426,000 barrels. September 2016 removals were 15,175,000 barrels, for a decrease of 4.9 percent. Please note that the estimates reflect revised estimates released by the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB).
