Ill Mannered Brewing breaks ground on 3,000-sq-ft brewery today

February 28, 2018Chris Crowell

Tom Ayers, chief mad man and head brewer at Ill Mannered Brewing, sent word this week that work has officially begun on the brewery’s new facility, announced this past summer. Work on the new 3,000-sq-ft building is expected to continue through the summer with the brewery hoping to move in prior to its third-year anniversary in late August.

In addition to a 1,500-sq-ft taproom and a 1,500-sq-ft brewing space, the building will showcase a nearly 1,000-sq-ft patio featuring a fire pit, drive up food truck parking and a roll-up glass garage door. The Ill Mannered team has many more exciting enhancements coming for the new facility that it plans to announce closer to the opening.

“This day has been a long time in the works, and we couldn’t be more excited. With the construction of this new facility we are proud to show our commitment to and passion for the community of Powell as its neighborhood brewery since 2015. We’ll be delivering fresh, local, hand crafted beer here for a long time to come!” Ayers said. “We have incorporated both customer feedback and our experience brewing in our current space into the new building to maximize the customer experience while maintaining the immersive small, local, brewery look and feel.”

To celebrate breaking ground on the new facility, Ill Mannered is hosting a groundbreaking party … right now! If you are nearby, head on down for a brand new beer infusion, 2016 Barrel Aged Tremendous Slouch Wee Heavy and a ceremonial groundbreaking.
