Introducing the Best in Beer Fest Editor’s Choice Award (did you win?)

October 7, 2014Chris Crowell

In the spirit of the Great American Beer Fest (GABF), which is both a large award ceremony and the greatest beer drinking party of the year, the CBB crew spread out and did some of its own research to hand out its own award. From our unscientific, humble sample size (numbers to remain secret), the Craft Brewing Business Best in Beer Fest Editor’s Choice Award goes to … bagpipes, please…

FATE Brewing Co. based in Boulder, Colo.! Hold your applause until the end of the post.

Fate Brewing Co
Great booth. Great attitude. And two killer brews: Coffee IPA and Chocolate Raspberry Porter.

At the GABF, FATE’s line was always 20 people deep (homefield advantage), they had a standout booth appearance, some really cool folks pouring beer while adorned with fun hop crowns and, most importantly, they served our TWO favorite beers of the day: Coffee IPA and Chocolate Raspberry Porter.

A little more about FATE:

FATE Brewing Co. was founded by owner Mike Lawinski. He spent the last 10 years working for the Big Red F Restaurant Group, as the operations manager for both Centro Latin Kitchen and the West End Tavern. During that time, he developed a passion for innovative, crave-able comfort food, and you can taste that point of view in the innovative beers showcased at this year’s event. We apologize to the hundreds of other breweries we were unable to sample at the festival. Drop us a line, and we’ll be sure to stop by next year.
