Kentucky House Bill 136 allows direct-to-consumer sales, Louisville’s Against the Grain pushes kegs to consumers

July 10, 2018Pretty Much a Press Release

We’ll take these, please.

With the passing of Kentucky House Bill 136, consumers are now able to purchase up to 31 gallons of beer directly from Kentucky microbreweries, which means selling craft beer kegs at the source is officially legal. In response, Louisville’s Against the Grain will launch its keg sales program on July 20 in tandem with the bottle release of its famous, Kentucky Ryed Chicken bourbon barrel aged rye amber ale.

Against the Grain will offer 1/6 barrels and 1/2 barrels of core brand beers like Retitiled pilsner, The Brown Note brown ale, 35K milk stout, Pile of Face American pale ale and Citra Ass Down double India pale ale. Against the Grain will also make specialty and seasonal brands like Kentucky Ryed Chiquen, available via pre-order. Keg sales will take place at Against the Grain’s production facility located at 1800 Northwestern Parkway. Consumers can place a keg order via an online form or email keg sales representative, Kira Patterson.
