Lyft partners with Buffalo Niagara Brewers Association to provide safe passage

Any time I hit a Cleveland craft brewery, I’m ride hailing (unless my pretty much non-drinking baby mama is driving). It’s a perfect fit — because craft beer and driving certainly do not mix. Buffalo took this idea a step further. The Buffalo Niagara Brewers Association officially announced this week that is was partnering with the app taxi services of Lyft. Customers just download the Lyft app and use the promo code “BNBA.” Each user gets four $5 credits towards rides and (much cooler) the brewers association gets a $10 finder’s fee that will go towards the organization (so you’d be supporting craft like a boss).

From WBFO88.7 (Buffalo’s NPR news station):

For Resurgence Brewing Owner Jeff Ware, ride hailing is about accessibility to what he calls “emerging places” — neighborhoods like Niagara Street on Buffalo’s West Side, where his establishment is.

“Niagara Street three years ago was not on the radar. People are still learning about this neighborhood,” said Ware. “It opens these neighborhoods up because it’s more than just getting home safely. It’s knowing that you can go to these neighborhoods with a safe and reliable ride, and then get home from that neighborhood safely and reliably and not be abandoned somewhere.”

This is an all around fabulous idea, and it’s a win-win for everyone. Cleveland and the rest of the nation — take notice.
