As part of its commitment to support the beer industry, especially in its craft-centric hometown of Denver, MicroStar Logistics formed a partnership with Metropolitan State University of Denver to support its new Beer Industry Program. Microstar will be installing highly specialized equipment in MSU’s new Beer Quality Labs, providing guest speakers, participating in the Beer Industry Leadership Council, offering internship opportunities and more.

“This partnership not only allows us to support an industry we love — the beer industry — it also strengthens the community we call home,” said MicroStar’s Senior Vice President of Operations, Glen Opp. “We’re proud to be a part of MSU Denver’s mission to equip the next generation of brewery professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to brew, sell and distribute high-quality beer.”

“When we were designing our Beer Industry Program, we got to know the team at MicroStar and it was immediately clear that their people are as passionate about quality as we are,” said Scott Kerkmans, MSU Denver Beer Industry Program director and professor. “When you combine that passion with their decades of experience, technical capabilities and tremendous scale, you get a powerful partner. Students who go through our Beer Industry Operations Program will benefit from our partnership with MicroStar for years to come.”

This new partnership will leverage MSU Denver’s centrally-located facilities on the Auraria campus in the heart of downtown Denver and its proximity to MicroStar’s new headquarters in the historic A.H. Root Building.

Metropolitan State University of Denver has transformed the lives of more than 90,000 people in Denver and Colorado through affordable degree programs, innovative public-private partnerships and a commitment to diversity. MSU’s Beer Industry Operations program offers multiple degree and non-degree options and blends the art and science of brewing beer with the hospitality knowledge and management skills desired by the beer and brewing industry. MSU Denver’s program is one of only 11 academic programs in North America recognized by the Master Brewers Association of the Americas for meeting the approved industry guidelines and learning outcomes.
