MicroStar Logistics, the leading diversified keg solutions provider, has grown leaps and bounds the past few years, rolling in a variety of services to be a craft brewery’s one-stop keg shop. If you need a refresher on how its keg sharing model works, click here. Anyway, the company keeps growing, now adding Glen L. Opp to its leadership team as Senior Vice President, Operations. Opp will be responsible for all aspects of MicroStar’s expanding operations, including logistics, repair and maintenance, quality, supply assurance and innovation.

Microstar logistics operationsOpp has a long history in the beer industry and has worked with a wide variety of brewers ranging from small, start-up micros to the largest brewers in the world. “I’ve always admired and enjoyed working with brewers, and the opportunity to work even more closely with these folks is exciting to me,” Opp said. “As brewers’ needs evolve, it is important to find supply-chain solutions to help them grow. MicroStar is making the right investments in people, quality and technology, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”

“Every day, new microbreweries are being founded and pushing the envelope of creativity, regional breweries are expanding nationally and more brewers are looking for ways to export their beer to global markets thirsty for higher-quality beer,” said Michael Hranicka, MicroStar’s president and CEO. “We are committed to helping brewers of all sizes achieve their goals. Adding a proven, experienced, resourceful leader like Glen is the latest investment MicroStar has made to further our operating partnerships with the world’s best brewers.”

Founded in 1996 and based in Greenwood Village, Colo., MicroStar’s Keg Management division leverages two pools of kegs — KegCraft-branded kegs for midsize, regional brewers and MicroStar-branded kegs for large, national brewers — to deliver cost-effective outsourced keg solutions. MicroStar’s Quality Services division, formerly a Tosca company, is the leading keg repair and maintenance operation helping to maintain the quality and lengthen the lifespans of some of the largest keg fleets in the world.
