New York State Brewers Association hosting the party of the summer at BriteVibes Festival

The virus is picking back up in some places, but we vaccinated CBBers remain excited about enjoying summertime events while it’s still considered cool to do. Anyone interested in a roadie to the BriteVibes Festival on Sept. 4? It’s a one-day event celebrating all things New York State: craft beer, food, musicians, artists and more, created by the New York State Brewers Association in partnership with Brewery Ommegang.

“Nothing brings people together like craft beer and music. This community has missed each other over the last year or so, and we’re excited to be hosting an in-person event of this kind over Labor  Day Weekend for people to celebrate everything they love about New York,” said Paul Leone, Executive Director, New York State Brewers Association.

New York is one of the more local-focused craft beer states, putting a farm brewery license in place several years ago to incentivize more beers made with local ingredients. This hyper local festival concept is an extension of that ethos. Festivalgoers will have the ability to sample craft beer from every corner of New York State, exposing them to breweries they may not have been able to try before. Half of the participating breweries are recent winners at the 2021 New York State Craft Beer Competition – some even winning multiple medals numerous years in a row.

“It’s been over a year since we were forced to close our little tasting room and transition to to-go only brewery,” Michael Carter, Co-owner, Fidens Brewing Company. “We are excited to attend Britevibes to have a rare opportunity to taste our beers with fellow beer fans!”

Taking place at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown (a central location), BriteVibes’ 30+ breweries will be surrounded by artisan vendors, experiential exhibitors, food trucks and live music. Attendees can also purchase an on-site camping reservation on the festival grounds, a former hop farm.

Daytime shows include Dirty Blanket, The Old Main, Los Blancos and Big Time Kitty. The evening concert, included in general admission or available as a separate ticket, opens with Oxymorons, followed by Delta Spirit, an indie rock band from California playing other major festivals throughout the U.S., in their first east coast show of the year.

Filling out the festival experience, attendees can compete in the BruBag Competition, combining the  rules of beer pong with cornhole play, try their hand at the thrilling experience of axe throwing,  provided by Bury the Hatchet, or support New York-based artisan vendors.

“It’s summertime in New York, and after the last year and a half, how could you possibly want to do anything other than listen to great music outdoors with some friends and some NY beers?” says Dan Bronson, General Manager, SingleCut Beersmiths. “SingleCut’s entire existence is based on pairing beer and music, and BriteVibes is shaping up to be an incredible weekend of just that.”

Tickets can be purchased right here.
