Ohio craft brewery trail rumors swirl

These colors don’t run … unless it’s getting to the next spot on a craft brewery trail!

Craft breweries often inspire each other with new ingredients and techniques (and puns). Well, same goes for state tourism groups, at least when it comes to promoting craft beer.

If you recall, the state of Louisiana just launched its very own Craft Brewery Trail thanks to the Louisiana Craft Brewers Guild and seven local breweries. Almost immediately, the idea caught the attention of those of us in the Buckeye State. From a Cleveland.com article last week:

“I think it’s an awesome idea and I’m going to steal it,” said Pat Barker, assistant director of the office of OhioTourism, who is from Northeast Ohio. “We do not have any trails like that.

“But we promote breweries and distilleries through blogs like discoveringohio.com and through Facebook and Twitter heavily because it certainly is a growing area of interest. But [breweries and distilleries] are always in the mix when we are pitching Ohio or promoting Ohio.”

Craft Brewing Business, native to Ohio, is certainly on board to support such an idea. Are you hearing about any similar plans in your state? Let us know some of the best local promotions happening where you do business.
