Oregon man brews beer for dogs – possible new craft category?

January 7, 2013Keith Gribbins

The debate has long raged: What is truly man’s best friend — dog or beer? The discussion took an odd twist this week when KTVZ (a leader in central Oregon news broadcasting) announced that Bend resident Daniel Keeton began brewing “Dawg Grog” for his furry best friend (no worries: it has no alcohol). Keeton also works at Boneyard Beer’s tasting room, so he understands how slinging suds at a local craft brewery can help alleviate the worst dog days.

Read the full story here, as well as watch the local broadcast video. You can buy Dawg Grog online at www.dawggrog.com. A pack of six 16-ounce containers will run you $36. That’s some seriously expensive pooch hooch. We wonder if craft brewers have considered the dog beer market (well, we just started wondering). We encourage you guys and gals to leave us comments down below.
