Pure Michigan TV ad features craft beer, Tim Allen and Jolly Pumpkin

March 14, 2016Keith Gribbins

There’s a place where life is served in small batches. Where the barley grows long and the hops grow as tall as the tales that follow. Where new ideas are served daily, and passion is poured into every pint. Because savoring the best of life is pure Michigan. That’s all from that commercial above, which is just pure awesome. As one of the nation’s best state-focused tourism campaigns, Pure Michigan is the creation of Travel Michigan, a division of the Michigan Economic Development Corp.

Its newest ad above blew us away, focusing on Michigan’s impressive craft beer community and specifically highlighting Dexter-based brewery Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales in a way that makes it look like a Happy Gilmore heaven. Tim Allen does the voice overs for all these ads, and he kills the commercial above. It’s one of three new Pure Michigan pieces that will go into rotation today, showing a national TV audience the state’s affinity for farm-to-table food, craft beer and beautiful nature. Ohio, pay attention.
