Question: Do you like free, pimptacular vacations in the wilderness that involve endless amounts of craft beer?

Pfft, paradise is overrated.

Personally? Yes, I do enjoy woodland vacations that are easy on the wallet and involve an unhealthy amount of craft beer. This is what interests me about the REEBellion at the Ranch sweepstakes giveaway, being launched by Oskar Blues Brewery and Draft Magazine. It has things that I would very much like to have and do, but it has them for free — like a three-day, three-night trip for four to the Oskar Blues REEB Ranch in Brevard, N.C., and things like special beer tastings, live music, bonfires, free bikes, trailriding and an endless supply of fresh-brewed craft beer.

But maybe the best part: Those three friends you take will be indebted to you for the rest of your life. Legally, we think they wouldn’t even be allowed to turn you in for murder (but we are not lawyers).

What’s all include here?

The trip includes airfare, transportation, meals, gear and lodging at the idyllic Waterfall Cabin at REEB Ranch for the winner and three buddies. Check out the photo above. This place is badass. The group will get the VIP brewery treatment: with a behind-the-scenes look at OBB’s Western North Carolina home via special tastings, music, bonfires, beer and food. The winner will also receive a custom REEB Cycles bike and have the opportunity to join in races and rides held at the ranch and on the world-renowned trails of the Pisgah and DuPont forests.

“REEBs are one-of-kind, all-American and welded by the best in the business,” said Tim Moore, Chief REEBer. “All of our steel tubing comes from True Temper Sports and small parts from Paragon Machine Works. These bikes are made for the types of terrain we love to ride. It’s pretty cool that the winner will be able to ride a REEB on the North Carolina trails they were designed for.”

Aaron Baker, OBB marketing guy and cycling junkie, added, “The trails around Brevard are, without question, the best on the East Coast. Pisgah offers over 200 miles of singletrack full of gnarly roots and rocks. DuPont complements the ruggedness of Pisgah with flowy trails and some rare eastern slick rock.”

No wait: There’s lots more stuff

Other prizes include specially-branded Smith Optics gear (Forefront helmet and Lowdown and Purist sunglasses); and a fully loaded Eagle’s Nest Outfitters hammock setup (Dale’s Pale Ale branded Doublenest hammock, Atlas straps, Talon Gear Strap, Twilights, and Echo Bluetooth speaker). Not only will the winner take epic mountain bike treks through Pisgah & DuPont, but they can choose to participate in (or simply grab a beer and watch) the following races held REEBellion weekend:

  • Blue Ridge Adventures presents the Oskar Blues Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder: a 47-mile backcountry tour featuring gravel roads and even a little singletrack.
  • Cane Creek Cycling Components presents the REEB Ranch dual slalom challenge: a race down the newly built dual slalom course which utilizes red clay from the Red Bull Dreamline course to create an epic downhill experience.
  • Asheville Cyclocross presents the REEB Ranch Cyclocross:a homegrown race that puts the landscape features of the REEB Ranch to work. Cyclists will race through the barn, charge up steep hills, and try not to get too bogged down in the cow pasture.

“The chance to WIN your very own REEB and shrelp it on the single track around Brevard is a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Baker. “Plus, challenge yourself against some of the best riders in Western North Carolina in any one of the three competitions or enjoy a post ride beer during the REEBellion. It’s on.”

The contest runs on cans of Dale’s Pale Ale through July 31. Enter to win at www.DraftMag.com/REEBellion.
