Reuben’s Brews, the award-winning, family-run brewery that helped define Seattle’s Ballard beer scene, is officially opening the doors to a brand-new taproom in downtown Seattle. Located at 1201 First Avenue, the new space expands the brewery’s city footprint in a big way—offering 28 taps, a full kitchen, and a versatile venue built for locals, tourists, and game-day traffic alike.
Opening to the public on Friday, June 13, the Reuben’s Brews Downtown Seattle Taproom marks a significant new chapter for the brewery, now in its 13th year. The grand opening weekend will include a special limited-release beer—Downtown Debut, a fruit-forward IPA brewed specifically for the occasion—alongside the launch of a new seltzer cocktail program, exclusive merch, and glassware giveaways.
“What pushed us to take the leap into professional brewing were the emails from bars asking about our award-winning homebrews,” said co-founder Adam Robbings. “Now, almost 13 years later, it makes us so happy to be able to serve our beers—along with an expanded food menu—to so many more people in the heart of Seattle.”
Reuben’s Brews downtown: Built for gathering and growth

The new Reuben’s Brews downtown taproom features floor-to-ceiling windows, 220 indoor and outdoor seats, and flat screen TVs tuned to Mariners, Seahawks, and Sounders games. The layout includes a semi-private event room, a to-go beer station, and a large central mural that showcases the brewing process alongside scenes from around Seattle.
With 28 taps flowing, the beverage lineup includes beer, cider, house seltzers, and non-alcoholic options. The kitchen adds a full slate of elevated pub fare—from grilled fish tacos and brussels sprouts in a sweet chili lime glaze, to a vegan Reuben on marbled rye and the returning favorite Emerald City Hot Chicken sandwich.
“Great beer and food go a long way to building community,” added co-founder Grace Robbings, “and we look forward to building new relationships in an exciting, energetic part of the city that we’ve called home for years.”
