Savannah Craft Brew Fest celebrates its sixth year this August

Hey, Savannah, Ga., it’s almost that time again for thousands of beer enthusiasts to start making their annual Labor Day weekend trip from across the region to the Savannah Craft Brew Fest. Overlooking the Savannah River and the Historic Savannah skyline, the Savannah Craft Brew Fest presented by Abita Beer will feature as many as 150 different craft brews, as well as educational sessions, a corn hole tournament and live music. The brew festival will be indoors and outdoors at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center on Saturday, August 31 from 1 until 5 p.m.

Historic Savannah will host the Savannah Craft Brew Fest on August, 31. The event presented by Abita Beer will feature as many as 150 different craft brews, as well as educational sessions, a corn hole tournament and live music.

“Visitors from around the country make the trek to Savannah every year for the Savannah Craft Brew Fest,” said Joe Marinelli, Visit Savannah. “The Labor Day weekend event, coupled with all of the affiliated craft brew events happening around town that weekend, make for a terrific last-blast long weekend of the summer.”

Tickets include a commemorative sampling glass and access to unlimited, two-ounce samples of over 150 beers such as Abita Andygator, Moon River Slo-Vannah Pale Ale, Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, Sam Adams Dark Depths, Back Forty Truck Stop Honey and the brand new Southbound Brewery Iron Lion plus many more.

The VIP Ticket will give patrons access to the festival one hour early at noon to take advantage of a more exclusive beer tasting experience. The VIP ticket allows entry to the private VIP Area from 1 to 4 p.m. and an exclusive beer selection not available to the general public. The Savannah Brew League will be conducting special Brew Tours as part of the VIP experience.

Also premiering at the 2013 event, Savannah Distributing will host the Beer Mixology Garden. Go beyond Black and Tans or Snakebites and see what exciting drinks can be made using craft beer as the basis. Come sample creations developed by local craft beer “mixologists” and taste new flavors in beer.

The World of Sam Adams will feature beer seminars such as Cooking with Beer, Brewing 101 and other beer education sessions.

Advance tickets to Savannah Craft Brew Festival are $40 for general admission or $75 for VIP. For those patrons that will not be sampling beer, General Admission Designated Driver tickets are available for $15 or VIP Designated Driver tickets are available for $25.

Tickets to the festival are on sale this Friday, July 5, through Ticketmaster.com or by phone at 800.745.3000.
