See where Shipyard Brewing started—Federal Jack’s Restaurant & Brew Pub

November 4, 2014Keith Gribbins

Shipyard Brewing Co. has been making great craft beer in Portland, Maine, since 1994. The famed nationally distributed craft brewery has roots in the picturesque seacoast village of Kennebunkport Harbor, where, in 1992, entrepreneur Fred Forsley and master brewer Alan Pugsley started Federal Jack’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, the birthplace of Shipyard ales. More than 20 years later, Shipyard beer is still brewed in small batches downstairs from the pub at the Kennebunkport Brewing Co. site. This video takes you behind the scenes to see how the company brews at KBC, complementing its expansive Portland facility.
